In einem Fahrstuhl wird die Leiche des heroinabhängigen Larry Chapel gefunden. Allerdings war nicht eine Überdosis der Grund für den Tod des Lebensmittelkontrolleurs, sondern eine Kaliumchlorid-Vergiftung. Die Spur führt die Ermittler Goren und Eames zu einer alten Bekannten. Nicole Wallace wurde schon für mehrere Morde verurteilt. Zu ihren Opfern zählt auch ihre eigene Tochter. Inzwischen ist Nicole mit Evan Chapel, dem Bruder des Toten, verlobt. Ist dessen Tochter Nicoles nächstes Opfer?
